Fatoumata TRAORE (Association of Young African Women in Diaspora, Switzerland) |

Fatoumata TRAORE is about to complete her studies at the University of Geneva. She obtained her Bachelor of Law degree from the National School of Administration of Bamako (currently known as the University of Mali). She also obtained a master’s degree in Development Studies from the “Graduate Institute for development studies” in Geneva, after having carried out two advanced training courses in a Notary's office and a Law firm in Bamako (Mali).
As a militant active member in Youth and Women associations, she specialized in development issues which led to her occupying positions in several youth associations both in Mali and in Switzerland. Some of the positions she held were: · Treasurer of the Association of the Pupils and Students of Mali (AEEM) of 1996 à1997. · Secretary of the foreign relations of the TV5-Mali club (1998-2000). · Secretary in charge of relations with the pivot Group Organisation - Social Development (GP/DS) in Bamako. · President of the Women Association (2000-2003) in Bamako, Ségou and Tombouctou. · Treasurer of the Association of pupils and students of the IUED (2001-2002) in Geneva. · Member of Malians in Switzerland Union (UMS) and the African Diaspora of Geneva (DAPSI) from 2001 and 2005. · Focal Point of the African Meeting of Human rights (RADDHO) in Geneva. · Member and sympathizer of “International Conference Volunteers” ICV-Geneva since 2003.
Ms. Traore was a one time prize winner of Malian youth contest, Youth Francophone (March 1999) in Paris and Geneva and an expert member in NTIC Youth Consultation company and the information company of Canada (May 2003). She was also a delegate of Mali Union in Switzerland (UMS) and the Forum of the Mali Diasporas in October 2003.
In addition to her academic competences and her qualities as a young leader of Malian Youth, Miss Traoré is an enthusiastic human rights, good governance and sustainable development defender.
A participant in multiple meetings, seminars and conferences at national and international levels, Miss Traore has always been sensitive to the question of the fight against poverty, problems of training and unemployment of the Youth. |
